US weekly cotton export for week ending Dec 29, 2016

Net upland sales of 183,700 RB for 2016/2017 were down 47 percent from the previous week and 45 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (51,100 RB), India (36,600 RB), Vietnam (21,900 RB, including 800 RB switched from Japan and decreases of 2,000 RB), Turkey (17,400 RB, including decreases of 2,100 RB), and Pakistan (12,200 RB). 

Exports of 252,400 RB were down 6 percent from the previous week, but up 9 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (92,500 RB), China (30,700 RB), Indonesia (26,800 RB), Turkey (19,100 RB), and Mexico (14,000 RB). 

Net sales of Pima totaling 3,200 RB for 2016/2017 were down 13 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported primarily for India (1,000 RB), Pakistan (800 RB), Japan (800 RB), and Vietnam (500 RB). 

Exports of 7,200 RB were down 64 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily India (3,800 RB), China (1,300 RB), Switzerland (400 RB), and Egypt (400 RB).
