India Announces Final Antidumping Ruling on Polyester Staple Fiber from China

Text size
On January 25, 2018, Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties of Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry announced its final determinations in the anti-dumping (AD) investigations of imports of polyester staple fiber from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. According to the agency, the detailed examination of the available material in the present case indicates that there is insufficient evidence to conclusively establish that dumping has caused material injury to Indian domestic industry. Therefore, the Authority considers it appropriate to recommend termination of investigation and imposes no antidumping duties.

On Feb 2, 2017, Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry announced that as an answer of the application of Alok Industries Ltd., Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Ltd. and the Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co. Ltd., it decided to initiate antidumping investigation over “non-dyed Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) ranging from 0.6 to 6 Deniers (excluding recycled PSF and specialty fibers namely, Cationic Dyeable, Fire/Flame Retardant, Low Melt and Bi-component Fibres)” from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The subject products are classified under HS Code 5503 20 00.
